In Bloom | Course Description

Dear creative soul,

I want to invite you on a journey to approach the creative process with curiosity and a posture of openness as we explore together. This course is all about learning to follow your intuition through painting flowers. We will explore the form, movement, and magic of flowers with paint. I hope this course is a beautiful mix of play, exploration, technique, and intention. The creative process requires our presence and time. Just like seeds are planted in a garden. We honor these parts of us by nurturing, watering, and tending to our creativity. Give it time and the flowers will grow.

In our time together we will learn the beauty of blending acrylics to create art with movement and expression. We will spend time in exploration and play and I will guide you into practices that will free you into self-discovery, leading you on a path to create from within. We will together explore floral forms and movements but in a way that is unconstrained, surprising, and absolutely delightful. Along with teaching you specific techniques I want to guide you in the journey of becoming the painter that is already within you. I will offer a window into all of the details of how I paint flowers including one of my favorite processes for creating endless inspiration for floral paintings.

By the end of our time together, my hope is that you will have gained confidence in following your own creative intuition. Yes, I am excited to teach you my process for painting florals but even more, I want to guide you toward a pathway that will lead you to experience the creative process in a way that brings freedom and delight.

Come along with me and lets plant some creative seeds and see the flowers that bloom!

Melissa Fink

Welcome creative soul! I am so glad you are here! Thank you for joining me in this course. I am Melissa Fink, a painter living in Western New York, creating in my home studio in our old 1870s farmhouse. Most days you can find me doing life with my husband Jesse and with our four young children. I believe beauty has great power to kindle hope. I am deeply inspired by nature and am often reminded that in spite of all that can go wrong in the world, some things can go so right. Nature is evidence of this reality – that beauty can emerge from barren places and broken things can be made new. This is why I paint and why nature deeply inspires me. My work is an invitation to see beauty in the unfolding moments of life, to offer a glimpse of hope and joy.
